Welcome to the Bhutan Museum !

Our museum is a unique museum devoted exclusively to Bhutanese culture and history in the world outside of Bhutan itself.

The Bhutan Museum is managed by a Non-Profit Organization named as Kofuku-no-Kuni  which means Land of Happiness in English.  Kofuku-no-kuni is helped with the cooperation of many volunteers.

The mission of the Bhutanese Museum is to raise awareness of Bhutanese rich culture and history to local people in Fukui and others in Japan. The ultimate goal is to increase international friendship between Japan and Bhutan and contribute to the development of both countries.

Bhutan is sometimes referred as one of the happiest countries in the world. We have much to learn in this respect from the country. We are going to offer the opportunities for visitors to consider what it is like to be truly happy in society.

HOURS: Tuesday through Sunday 11am ~ 5pm. Monday closed (except for Japan’s National Holidays on Monday, in which case the museum is open on the holiday and closed the following Tuesday instead).

Location: 3-15-12 Ote, Fukui, 910-0005 Japan
